HIB regularly performs public protection gradings throughout the State of Hawaii. Communities are graded on a scale of 1 to 10 based on their fire suppression capabilities. The results of these gradings are contained in HIB's Public Protection Classification Manual which provides a:

• List of recognized fire stations
